Posting time advice is widely shared but frequently misunderstood — the 'best time to post' varies by platform, audience timezone, and content type, and for most accounts the effect is smaller than content quality. Knowing how to read your own platform analytics to find your specific audience's active window is more valuable than any generic benchmark.

Try it yourself

1. In your platform analytics, find the 'follower activity' or 'audience online' graph and identify the top two daily time windows when your specific audience is most active.
2. Schedule the same type of post on three different days at times that are 4+ hours apart and compare the reach at 24 hours for each — note whether timing explains more than 20% of the variance.
3. Check whether your highest-reach posts from the past 90 days were posted within or outside of your audience's peak activity window, and calculate the ratio.
