Hide Your Device: Drop Box, Body-Worn, or Implant

Why this matters

Form factor is the biggest determinant of an op's success. An attack on a laptop in a server room is detected in 3 minutes; the same payload inside a power strip is detected in 3 weeks (or never). Choices: drop box (disguised — printer, fan), body-worn (under clothes during the engagement window), implant (built into existing infrastructure — wall socket, UPS, AC adapter).

Real-world templates: Hak5 LAN Turtle looks like every USB-Ethernet dongle. Packet Squirrel installs inline on Ethernet and is invisible. Plunder Bug fits in a pocket. Custom: gut a UPS, install Pi + 4G hat, plug it back in.

Try it yourself

1. Pick three real objects (smoke detector, picture frame, USB charger, surge strip). Sketch how a Pi Zero 2 W hides inside each without changing the outward appearance.
2. Read the Hak5 LAN Turtle and Packet Squirrel datasheets. Note what makes each stealthy.
3. Design a plant-and-forget op: form factor, network capability (Wi-Fi/LTE), battery life. 1-page concept doc.
4. List 5 defensive countermeasures that would detect each of your three implants. Include human and technical controls.
